I love the visualization; it's very motivating. My technique is the 5-second rule - doing the thing to be done before the inner critic kicks in.

The 5-second rule is also very useful! When I went through the stage of learning to talk to strangers, often there was a time when it made sense, and if I didn't say something within those 5 seconds there was almost no chance I would say anything at all.

I am going to apply your timer technique to reading and commenting on 5-10 Substack newsletters. The timer is on, and you are #1.

Just to let you know, I only managed 3 comments in 15 minutes. I had to do two more iterations of 15 minutes each to write 7 comments. The reason being, I was reading a number of posts and choosing which ones I wanting to subscribe to. Interesting exercise. I use 15 minutes timer to write. I will be using it to read and comment. Thanks for the idea.

That's amazing to hear Neera! Thanks for reading + applying the technique. Most people will just read and move on! But a rare few - like you - will actually try it.

This is great. I’ve never heard of visualizing the fear first. Whatever works. 🥰🙏
