Asking for unreasonable things
The highlight for last week is asking a friend of a friend if they were willing to use/drive their car for a car crash scene in a short film I’m making. They said yes.
Pictures of the scene.
It was a little hectic to make (and a little dangerous) - we tried to be safe where we could, but operating the camera and walking backwards - I was perhaps the least safe in the scene. It worked out - otherwise I may not have been writing this post.
Asking for reasonable things
The asking for reasonable things that feel uncomfortable has worked out well too - anytime I’ve noticed it, I thought: I get to add one to the counter I setup on my phone, so let’s do it! I’m glad that’s improving, because it really is a more pervasive, poison-in-the-background feature of my life.
Comedy
Ok, so I’ll admit I didn’t add anything to the comedy routine until today in the hours before writing this post. But I’ve been ridiculously time starved of late. So - both comedy and reaching out to writers have taken a bit of a back seat. Expect progress in the next update.
Future Focus
recently wrote an article about matchmaking (in the general sense). It inspired me - the thought of being someone who connects other people feels warm and fuzzy. And it gives me an extra excuse to make new connections. I’m unsure of what I’m going to do exactly to facilitate this - but if I don’t have any results to report next week, I’ll at least have a semi-detailed plan for how I’ll be going about that.
Until next time.
